"It'll be nice if I never existed in this world...I'm nothing but a burden."
MIKANO SAKANE
|
A girl which Kokoro first met at the Angel Game Training Center; who seems to be very hardworking and yet caring towards helping others when it comes to Angel Game. However, behind her cheerful personality that often smile, she carries a certain lie that is slowly damaging her.
Current Story
Sakane have often been skilled in Angel Game and often share information about its history and all the rumors behind it, showing how much she's quite passionate about the Game; despite not showing much reasoning behind her knowledge regarding the Game.
Later revealed, her smile and strong personality were almost a facade--Sakane is the type that kept all her negative thoughts to herself; that she almost fell into despair until Kokoro appeared into her life, and enlighten her that she is not alone. Sakane have been living under a poor family, and she struggles to find a job to help her family because of her own lack of education, experiences, as well as her own appearance. Turn out, her small appearance that is opposed to her age is seems to be a part of her misfortunes...?
After being "saved" by Kokoro, Sakane began to reflect on why she was interested in Angel Game in the first place--and its because it was her only escape and "happiness" after all the things she faced in her life. She also started to believe that Angel Game is no longer a curse; and accept it as another part of herself while following Kokoro in her journey.
Personality
- Sakane's personality mostly shows that she's a cheerful and kind girl, who can be passionate for anything that she loves. She doesn't show as much enthusiasm regarding towards her interests when compared to Kokoro, but Sakane often puts the best efforts on everything she loves.
- Sakane is also a very hardworking and helpful one, especially towards her friends and family. Sakane is very appreciative of her family and friends, and wanted nothing but the best for them--even if she doesn't gain anything from doing all of that, Sakane is willing to work hard and never want to see any of her family or friends in trouble.
- Around her friends, interestingly enough, Sakane is also portrayed as the tsukkomi (straight man) for being one of the slightly "serious" ones. Though, her serious image can become "softer" when Sakane receives any compliments or praises--as Sakane can't seem to handle those well (and never expected them in the first place), she often gets flustered or become awkward even by a simple "thank you".
- A negative side of Sakane is shown that Sakane is a girl with a very low self-confidence or self-esteem. Her lack of confidence to herself always drives her to thinking that she's a mere burden to her family and her friends--sometimes it leads her to dangerous thoughts or attempts. Hiding all her depressions to herself, she often end her thoughts with the idea that her presence is nothing but a burden to everyone.
- Despite often seen friendly to most people at first glance, Sakane also had difficulties on trusting new acquaintances to even call them as "friends" that easily. Even if she had friends that she trust, she still refused to share her negative thoughts to anyone, which is something no one would expect considering how much Sakane often willing to help others in almost anything, but never to tell anyone or even seek help about her own struggles.
Stats for "Mist Aqua"
Water-elemented "Hearts" are known for their strong defense. With the help of the higher RANGE stats, Sakane owns the advantage of defending herself from other opponents regardless of how big/strong their attack is. As water in general have a varied form, Sakane could create anything ranging from waves to bubbles.
When it comes to counterattacking, though, Mist Aqua's biggest weakness is direct hitting any opponents. With it's low ATK stats, Sakane will have to rely on rapid attacks towards her opponents of she actually plans on doing a damage towards them--which is quite difficult for a defense-based "Heart". The low CHARGE stats doesn't contribute much to Mist Aqua's continuous rapid attacks either, meaning that Sakane struggles a lot when it comes to creating energies/powers in a much faster speed. The advantage of Sakane's "Heart" is definitely the low S.C. While most "Heart" with larger range usually consumes the most stamina from it's user, Sakane doesn't face any problem regarding this at all, though of course, with the trade-off with a much weaker ATK and CHARGE. |

Appellation by Sakane |
At first, Sakane only helped Kokoro in Angel Gaming despite she still had trust issues on making new friends, but she didn't expect to get this close to her, to the point of willing to follow Kokoro along her journey. She appreciate the fact that Kokoro often look out for her and ask how is her condition doing, as the only person who does that to Sakane in the past was her deceased father. |
"Kokoro" |
|
Sakane often admired Kozue for being able to live by herself when she had nothing in the forest, when Sakane mentioned that even her family struggled living in a broken house. Sakane is often entertained (and sometimes quietly giggled) at Kozue's obliviousness towards technologies and other basic things in life. Sakane, along with Kagami and Kozue is considered as the "three main elements" trio for their water/fire/nature element, and also because their family-like dynamics. |
"Kozue-san" |
|
Probably one of the closest to Sakane, they both are considered the "smart duo" of the four and often had to look out for Kokoro and Kozue just so they won't wander elsewhere during their journey and started doing anything unwanted. While they both are very knowledgeable in Angel Gaming, Sakane leans more towards the tactical side, while Kagami is more of a strategic planner. |
"Kagami-san" |
The only biggest indications of Sakane's misfortunes were Sakane's small physical and the fact she lived in a poor family. Though, it's also implied that Sakane finding out her family's secret could be one of her misfortunes (and another cause of Sakane's self-loathing).
Sakane actually lives in a foster family. She was left by her parents since she was really young, and later got adopted by her current foster mother. She were also one of those unfortunate children who was born with a "Heart". This was left as a secret for the longest time, and was eventually found out by Sakane. Her misfortunes continued as Sakane was raised in her poor family until today. Mysteriously, after her foster father's death when Sakane was 10, Sakane's body became stunted and stuck as a physical of a child, and it's not because of health problems or certain disabilities, but she found out that her "Heart" made her stuck in her current physical. She thought it was not a big deal, but her small body were actually a burden to her because of others still treating her like a child, despite her age and how she can't help her family with her current small body. Sakane's lonely, unfortunate life continued as Sakane have to face her own despair that continues piling up.
- "I'm sick of facing "today". I'm sick of fake smiles. I'm sick of people treating me like a child. I'm sick of people not understanding anything. I'm sick of myself. I'm sick of my life. Why am I...still alive..."
- "I will never ask for anything in return. All I wanted was everyone to be happy. I don't even mind if I'll never get that, but, if only... If only..."
- "I never thought that a simple shape on my left hand could make my life more miserable..."
